LUNA MOTH SHADOW BOX
LUNA MOTH SHADOW BOX
I’m really excited to share my Luna Moth shadow box piece! It’s something I couldn’t get out of my mind, and I just had to create it. Right now, it’s proudly displayed in my home as a special personal piece.
This project was one of my first larger works and took me about a year to complete. As the flowers I dreamed of using began to bloom, I cut and dried them to get them ready for the piece. I raised the Luna Moths from eggs and, after enjoying their beauty, I released most of them back into the wild to help boost the native population. I kept a few for my own collection, of course!
Whenever I raise Silk Moths, I always make sure to return more than half of them to the wild. I love doing my part to ensure these gorgeous creatures stick around for generations to come!
The items that make up this piece are:
Personally raised Luna Moths, Peonies from my old house, Toad Lilies from Splints & Daisies House, Tulips, Lily of the Valley from my house, Lisianthus from Royal Oaks Farm, Hellebore from my old house, foraged Lichen branches
