Sunday we had a blast in New Hope photographing this fun goofy couple!!! Not to mention there were sheep and farm animals involved! What could be better???? So here is a little preview of what is to come :) ENJOY!

We couldn’t be more excited to be sharing Adriene and Kyle’s leap day wedding on our blog today. Nothing sets up a wedding for an awesome day like choosing to have your anniversary every four years ;) But if you know this quirky fun loving couple then you know that it is a rather fitting day. Adriene and Kyle are such an awesome couple full of love and just fun to hang around with. From their fun sense of humor to just how open they are, we had a blast capturing their day, their love and the love that they share with their friends and family.

We started off their day at a pretty cool pet friendly hotel in Philadelphia called the Hotel Palomar, where we were able to capture Adriene getting ready and even her sweet pup Ludo. Ludo of course stole the show with those adorable big brown eyes, how could you not fall in love with him. From the view out the windows to the beautiful interaction between Adriene, her mother and sister, Hair by Brianna Adams and Makeup by April Chatman-Royce the morning started off pretty great. Our videographer pal Natalie Fava of Birdhouse Productions was there by our side capturing all of the joy, love and goofy faces [as you will see below] which always means an awesome creative collaboration. Plus nothing gets better when you have a bouquet that is the brain child of the super talented Sullivan Owen Floral and Event Design. Did we mention that Adriene works with Sullvian helping her create those amazing bouquets that you see?!? They also put together some fun and funky boards in the ceremony location that almost looked like they were apart of the room. So keep an eye out for those beauty’s below.

With such an amazing creative team working to help make and capture Adriene and Kyle’s wedding we just knew it was going to be awesome to capture, rain or no rain. We headed to Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, a location the looks like it is straight out of a story book. With so many things to see and hidden objects you could easily get lost for hours in there. Isaiah Zagar the artist behind Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens and a few murals that you see around Philadelphia is truly inspiring. Using every day objects to create master pieces that always catch our eye when we are in Philly. If you have never been there be sure to stop by next time you are in the city, it’s worth checking out ;) This location was a beautiful set up for their wedding, and made for an even more fun first look! Keeping them separated from each other in little tunnels waiting for the big reveal. The fun didn’t end there, Kyle wowed their wedding guests with his yoyo skills and even did a mini Q&A which kept the group smiling and laughing until it was time for the ceremony.

After the ceremony was over guests enjoyed chatting, champagne and exploring in the Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens until it was time to travel over to El Vez, an amazing Mexican restaurant in Philadelphia. If you love Mexican food and Guacamole, this is a place for you!!! Filled with some awesome decor and an amazing drink list it’s a great place to sit down, relax and enjoy some delicious food. It’s a place that we always want to stop at when we are in the city now. Ps. their guacamole is made to order and will blow your mind! ;) Adirene and Kyle invited their guest to enjoy a small reception afterwards at El Vez and April even made an awesome plant cake for them to enjoy. They also had a little photobooth fun while they were there.

Adriene and Kyle, we cannot thank you both enough for starting off our wedding season the right and perfect way. Your day was so much fun to capture and so beautiful, truly inspiring. You both are so much fun to be around and such a great couple. We both wish you the best with your marriage and cannot wait to see you both again :) Hope that you enjoy your images as much as we did taking them. <3

It’s no secret that we adore film, the way it looks, the nostalgia behind it the idea of making sure everything is right before you press that button. Everything about it is just so exciting! So we finally broke down and purchased a nice little Canon 35mm camera that will allow us to use the lenses we already have. The following images are our first images using film straight out of camera unedited. We are so excited about the process going forward and cannot wait to push ourselves even further as photographers! Enjoy!

From the first time we had the chance to chat with Lauren and Matt we knew that they were pretty awesome! Not only are they fun to spend time with, but they are a husband and wife photography team too!!! Lauren + Matt own the amazing Morrissey Photo and they are awesome at what they do! Our socks were knocked off when they asked if we would capture their little family of three and then some of just the two of them. What could be better!?! And we just love photographing other photographers :) Here is a little preview from yesterday’s shoot. More to come soon! Enjoy <3

Couple hugging each other in a corner

When we want an awesome engagement shoot what do we think? Old abandoned farm house of course, and a great freaking’ couple as well. :) Joanne and Joe are a way adventurous couple who accompanied us into one of the coolest most inspiring locations we have ever shot at. This old house was nestled off the road in…well we can’t really divulge that location ;-) but…well look at how freaking awesome this place is.

This house was super cool, and going from the basement to the top was simply awe inspiring. We found old trinkets from the people who had lived their previously, old hardware everywhere, and an attic that reminded us exactly of Edward Scissor Hands. Peeling wallpaper and broken windows, we have never been in a location so freaking sweet. All four of us barely talked we were just so enchanted by where we were and the adventure we were on. Except for all the crazy odd colored mud on the property it was literally perfect, and Joanne and Joe only gave us the awesome factor for these photos, and we couldn’t have done it without them.

These two were awesome. No fear, and way open for getting the best shots possible. We were all so happy to explore this great location, talk, and just have a great adventure.  These two were super cute and loving, and combined with such a great place to shoot I think the photos speak for themselves. We were all wicked dusty by the end but all four of us had a great shoot and a great time. We want to thank Joanne and Joe for being such a terrific couple, and adventuring with us for such a great shoot. Thank you Joanne and Joe you guys rock! We are so excited and cannot wait for your wedding. Enjoy <3

Yesterday Ryan and I had the biggest pleasure of photographing a couple who when we first met them we spent 3 hours chatting about zombies, comics, Star Wars and everything in between Needless to say we were super excited to be chatting with these two again and not only hanging out with, but capturing their love as well! We had such a blast and we are excited to share a little preview of their session! Enjoy <3

With wedding season sneaking up on us quickly we are starting to get prepared to capture some amazing couples this year! We couldn’t be more excited, but we also know that since we’ve quadrupled our weddings from last year we need to step it up on the organization front. Being creative and having a creative mind does not always allow for the best organization skills, so we are always looking for the best way for us to stay on top of what we have to get done. After reading Red Leaf Studio’s most recent Light & Truth Journal [which we highly recommend you check out] I was inspired by their article on organization to get on track and clean up how we work. We’ve never had a bad workflow but it also was never the most organized, we knew what we had to get done and would just do it. So after seeing the forms that Red Leaf provided I deiced to create my own, a very detailed workflow sheet that allows us to make sure we don’t miss a beat when it comes to keeping our couples feeling special and happy with the services we provide.

Here are a few items that we have found help keep us organized and connected to the world, our emails and our couples.

With this brand new work form being implemented we are also taking a page from Sullivan Owen’s shop and creating our own clipboard wall. We are super visual people, so if something is always in our face we will take care of it. On the other hand if we see it every once in awhile or not at all it gets put on the back burner and sometimes forgotten about until the last second. So now we will have a constant reminder of what we have to do, who we need to do it for and where we are in the process of completing each couple’s love story. It helps even more since it’s two of us now, we don’t always have the time to sit down and go over each wedding or engagement session and where we left off. So now we can just go check the wall and know where we need to pick up. Yay for teamwork ;)

I know from personal experience that organization is one area that a lot of us fall short. We have all of the best intentions and then something gets in the way, distracts us and it all goes out the window for another day. I’ve had a few photographers ask me about this work flow sheet since I posted a little peek of it, and I am more then happy and willing to share what I’ve put together. Now this is what works for us, it will not work for everyone. But hey it could be a great inspiration for your to put your own together and get your butt organized and on the right path to make happy couples and a happier you! So enjoy and if you have any questions feel free to ask! <3

You may remember Natalie and Mark’s snowy engagement shoot from January, well meet part 2 engagement session with the exceptionally phenomenal Birdhouse Productions, and it could not have been more different than the first. Rocking out in the Allen Theater these two hip cats put on a stylized shoot to make their save the dates truly epic. (We know we cannot wait for ours!) These two were rocking some sweet duds and rocking even sweeter tunes to get into the right mindset for the shoot. Their shoot had absolutely everything from old vinyl records (they do sound better!), drums, guitars, mics, beehives, and old albums too…we were inspired and ready to go.

Natalie and Mark are so truly inspiring from the true love that they share to the amazing films they capture and the beautiful wedding show they put together. It’s hard not to be in their presence and not get excited and ready to take on the world! We couldn’t be more excited to have captured not only 1 engagement session for these two but 2 awesome engagement shoots. What makes this shoot even more special is the fact that Natalie worked at the Allen Theater in high school, through college and even screened some of her films there! And that sexy drum set you see, is actually her dad’s set from his band playing days! How freaking cool is that, and now you know that pure talent and musical skills run in the family. It’s the little things added to this shoot that make it so much more special and add so much more meaning.

We need to thank Natalie and Mark for coming up with such a killer concept for us to be such and integral part in. They had everything ready to go in such a great location that, frankly, we were pretty blown away. Their impromptu songs made us laugh while we shot away, and added that little something extra to really make the shoot pop :) . We want to again thank Natalie and Mark for honoring us with allowing us to shoot their second engagement session(lucky! who gets two engagement sessions?) So, without further ado here and ready to rock are Natalie and Mark!

We have been waiting for forever to shoot our great friends Natalie and Mark of Birdhouse Productions. These two were absolutely amazing on a snowy blizzard-y morning. We had a ball simply walking around, hanging out and taking great pictures in the snow. These two were inspired by an album Jill loves, a collection of Christmas carols redone by She and Him, and everything turned out even better than we could have ever hoped for.

Not only did these two cats have  a great time, but their dogs Mabel and Riot were allowed to come out and play in the snow as well.  Natalie and Mark explored, danced, and just strait up had a blast braving the frigid outsides all while looking pretty freaking fantastic. We are so happy the way our snowiest shoot EVER went down. Jill may have had to do some acrobatics to come up with her great shots but it was all worth it in the end. :)

We want to thank Natalie and Mark so much for allowing us to come out and spend such a spectacular snow filled morning with them. We all simply had an incredible blast goofing off and seeing the love that these two wonderful and talented people share. We are so excited to have shot these two in a spectacular setting, and we cannot wait to show their engagement shoot part 2, and more than that we are so super duper freaking awesomely excited to shoot their wedding coming up. Thank you again you two crazy kids, you are absolutely inspiring!
