We enjoyed our Saturday capturing Olivia + Steve’s beautiful wedding! It was hard to pick just a few for a preview but here are a couple of our favorites. Enjoy!
From the first time Ryan and I were introduced to Belovely Events we knew we just had to work with them. From their true attention to detail, to their amazing organizational skills, these ladies really know how to deck out a shoot and an event! After getting to meet them we knew that Lauren and Colleen would be amazing and fun to work with, their ambitious personalities and their eye for style truly makes them ahead of the rest. They had exactly what we were looking for when it came to collaborative piece and so much more.
The process of coming up with and putting the shoot together went really seamlessly, Belovely Events took over where they know best, decorating and bring together all of the crazy ideas in our heads and their own. Their knowledge of amazing artists in the wedding industry built an amazing creative team for this Penelope inspired shoot. It was hard not to feed off of the energy of the day.
Penelope is such an inspiring story to begin with, but to bring it to life in a wedding setting was just amazing to watch and even more fun to photograph. From the beautiful details that Belovely Events provided us with, to the amazing flowers by Wildflowers by Design, to the cake by Addy Maes, the invitations by Studio Four Three and more, it was pure eye candy. Each artist did what they did best for this stylized shoot and made this shoot exactly what you see. We couldn’t be more grateful to them all.
Our approach to shooting this amazing set up was go at it with wonder and possibility. Not hold anything back and just exploring our environment, our models and the decor kind of like Penelope in the movie. Josh and Colleen were so amazing to work with and so laid back smiling, laughing and having a genuinely good time. Evey thing just fell right into place and magic happened.
We couldn’t be more proud of this shoot and everyone’s hard work and effort to make it all come together beautifully! From the pig noses to the piano and everything in between everyone truly worked together as a beautiful creative team to bring together Penelope and Johnny’s love story. Bring it together as inspiration for any bride planning a wedding looking to add a little sparkle to their day.

From the Belovely Ladies:
When Jillian McGrath Photography came to us to do this styled shoot, we knew from the get-go that we wanted to do something fun and edgy. Her photos are so soft and pretty but still have that mysterious, wanderlust appeal and we wanted to take full advantage. When we thought of the idea to do a Penelope inspired shoot, the more we watched the film the more we felt inspired to design a shoot – it was perfect! The movie has such a bright, magical and whimsical feel but also has a dark, rebellious and cursed storyline. Jillian’s style and our inspiration complimented one another so well and we couldn’t be more happy with the results!
In designing the shoot we wanted to stick as close to the movie as possible, however try to plan something as if Penelope was truly our client. As a horticulture enthusiast, the Horticulture Center was the absolute perfect location for Penelope! We started off with an engagement shoot of the couple, with bright colors, and an ode to the movie of how they first fell for one another – learning about one another through music and chatting over a few games of chess.
For the big wedding we couldn’t help but make it as colorful as possible, but in a sophisticated, whimsical way. We absolutely loved the purple wedding dress and the wonderful florals by Wildflowers by Design. While planning this shoot we gave all our vendors some color and inspiration guidelines but really wanted them to put their own mark on it. Working with so many artists on such a wildly fun shoot, we knew we couldn’t go wrong with ‘the bigger the better’ – so we just let them have at it.
All in all the shoot came out even better than expected. A photo booth with pig noses and a Penelope mask seemed like such a fun way to add in some silliness, and a scarf wedding favor felt so appropriate. We loved our ceremony and reception set up – with an air plant heart backdrop, and a hot pink branch chandelier inspired by the pink tree in Penelope’s bedroom…we truly feel as if we captured Penelope and Johnny’s love for one another and planned their perfect wedding truly exemplifying what makes them them.

Thank you so much to all of the amazing and so truly talented vendors involved in making this shoot truly amazing! All of your help and support truly means the world to us and without you all this would never have turned out nearly as beautiful as it did. Be sure to check out these amazing vendors and what they have to offer to make your wedding day truly a day you will never forget.
We couldn’t be more excited to be sharing Adriene and Kyle’s leap day wedding on our blog today. Nothing sets up a wedding for an awesome day like choosing to have your anniversary every four years
But if you know this quirky fun loving couple then you know that it is a rather fitting day. Adriene and Kyle are such an awesome couple full of love and just fun to hang around with. From their fun sense of humor to just how open they are, we had a blast capturing their day, their love and the love that they share with their friends and family.
We started off their day at a pretty cool pet friendly hotel in Philadelphia called the Hotel Palomar, where we were able to capture Adriene getting ready and even her sweet pup Ludo. Ludo of course stole the show with those adorable big brown eyes, how could you not fall in love with him. From the view out the windows to the beautiful interaction between Adriene, her mother and sister, Hair by Brianna Adams and Makeup by April Chatman-Royce the morning started off pretty great. Our videographer pal Natalie Fava of Birdhouse Productions was there by our side capturing all of the joy, love and goofy faces [as you will see below] which always means an awesome creative collaboration. Plus nothing gets better when you have a bouquet that is the brain child of the super talented Sullivan Owen Floral and Event Design. Did we mention that Adriene works with Sullvian helping her create those amazing bouquets that you see?!? They also put together some fun and funky boards in the ceremony location that almost looked like they were apart of the room. So keep an eye out for those beauty’s below.
With such an amazing creative team working to help make and capture Adriene and Kyle’s wedding we just knew it was going to be awesome to capture, rain or no rain. We headed to Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, a location the looks like it is straight out of a story book. With so many things to see and hidden objects you could easily get lost for hours in there. Isaiah Zagar the artist behind Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens and a few murals that you see around Philadelphia is truly inspiring. Using every day objects to create master pieces that always catch our eye when we are in Philly. If you have never been there be sure to stop by next time you are in the city, it’s worth checking out
This location was a beautiful set up for their wedding, and made for an even more fun first look! Keeping them separated from each other in little tunnels waiting for the big reveal. The fun didn’t end there, Kyle wowed their wedding guests with his yoyo skills and even did a mini Q&A which kept the group smiling and laughing until it was time for the ceremony.
After the ceremony was over guests enjoyed chatting, champagne and exploring in the Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens until it was time to travel over to El Vez, an amazing Mexican restaurant in Philadelphia. If you love Mexican food and Guacamole, this is a place for you!!! Filled with some awesome decor and an amazing drink list it’s a great place to sit down, relax and enjoy some delicious food. It’s a place that we always want to stop at when we are in the city now. Ps. their guacamole is made to order and will blow your mind!
Adirene and Kyle invited their guest to enjoy a small reception afterwards at El Vez and April even made an awesome plant cake for them to enjoy. They also had a little photobooth fun while they were there.
Adriene and Kyle, we cannot thank you both enough for starting off our wedding season the right and perfect way. Your day was so much fun to capture and so beautiful, truly inspiring. You both are so much fun to be around and such a great couple. We both wish you the best with your marriage and cannot wait to see you both again
Hope that you enjoy your images as much as we did taking them. <3

Freak snow storms in October equals an awesome wedding in October
We were lucky enough to capture Ty and Frances’ wedding this October amidst the incredible back drop of fiery leaves and cool snow. These two were awesome, and with their families we had a great day. Everyone was dressed to the nines in tuxes and gowns, and had a blast. It was so fun to walk around the snowy grounds of the Hotel Hershey and capture the fun between Ty and Frances, and even though there was a foot of snow on the ground they were super open to getting the best pictures possible! Blue Heron Flowers & Event Planning did such an amazing job with decorating the ceremony and reception location everything was picture perfect!
These two families had even more fun with Latin and Jewish dances at their reception then we could have ever thought possible.
It had everything you could think of, the Hora, people on chairs, and one fantastic conga line. Even though the snow could have put a damper on everyone’s spirits we saw so much love and happiness that it didn’t matter what the weather was outside.
Thank you Francis and Ty for allowing us to capture the love between you two and the love your families were able to share, despite what the weather was outside! It was so amazing to be a part of your special day and see the love you two and your entire family shared. Thank you again so much, we had an absolute blast!
How are vegan weddings? Amazing! Ryan and Amanda are two of our dearest friends, amazing through and through and vegan! We couldn’t have been more honored and thrilled to have captured their small vegan reception they had after having a personal ceremony in Thailand. Their wedding was hands down a unique and lovely event and just as beautiful as they are. These two danced the night away with friends and family, and the groom even serenaded everyone with a touching Jason Mraz cover. They had a beautifully created vegan cake from Vegan Treats, as well as the cupcakes which were so delicious!!! Sharing in their day, capturing their joy and love was such a great time we just could not get enough of their celebrating!
It was crazy to think how much hard work and time Amanda and Ryan put into planning their Pennsylvania reception, with all of the had made decorations and details. The craziest part was that they flew with and shipped everything from California to Pennsylvania the week that they got here. With the help of some wonderful friends and family members they were able to turn the lovely wood filled [from floor to ceiling] Mt Gretna Fire House into a beautiful representation of who they are and their love. From their paper flowers, to the little Buddha favors and their table filled with images and items from their Thailand trip. They even put together a fun photo booth that had their guest dressing up and have a good time all night. Their day was filled with nothing but good vibes and love, just the way a celebration of love should be.
Amanda and Ryan thank you so much for allowing us to be apart of your celebration, you two are such an amazing couple and we couldn’t be more lucky to have you in our lives and as our friends. Your reception was awesome from the food to your guests, and you two are such a perfect fit for each other! Hope that you are enjoying each other to the fullest! Thank you again and enjoy the photos. <3
