Last month I [the wife part of Jillian McGrath Photography] made my way up to Scranton to the amazing show room of Maggpie Vintage Rentals for a fun evening of boudoir photography. I have been wanting to build our business to include boudoir but it never really took off. So I jumped at the chance to photograph the beautiful Danielle and Maggie [her blog post is coming later] on Maggie’s amazing vintage furniture. Classic beauties on classic furniture, what could be better???
Boudoir in my mind should embody whatever it is that makes the woman in front of the camera feel beautiful. Whether that is wearing her significant other’s button up shirt or wearing little at all, it really is all about her! For my venture into boudoir photography I also decided that I want to stay away from the hotel room feeling photography, though it is really beautiful and is a perfect location for some, I prefer looking for interesting locations with a little less static feeling. Or even traveling outside for a boudoir session, hey nature can be sexy too! So Maggie’s current show room was a perfect start towards building our boudoir portfolio. The amazing windows full of light, the old molding around the doors, and a gorgeous stair case, if I could live there I would in a heartbeat. My heart will forever be with older homes with all of their character and high ceilings.
Danielle was so easy to work with, she’s naturally beautiful, easy to talk to and a lot of fun to spend an evening with. With the intentions of giving these images to her man for Valentine’s day we started with one of his favorite shirts, then moved to his favorite team’s jersey [and Danielle rocked both!]. Then onto something more feminine and beautiful, Danielle’s white outfit had a little more of an angelic feeling which went well with the beautiful back lighting coming in through the windows and we ended with something still classy and beautiful but a little more risky
I had such a blast and am so thrilled to share these images with you. I couldn’t be more proud of them and happy that Danielle agreed to let me share them!
Danielle, I really hope that these helped to make your Valentine’s Day a little extra special and that your guy enjoyed them! You were a blast to work with and if you ever want to do it again give me a call!!! Thank you again for allowing me to photograph you and making my passion for photography so easy
Enjoy <3
